Well, the results are in - I was not voted president by my AM or PM class! Bummer. We had a fun time campaigning, voting, and analyzing the results! To being our election we read three books.
After we read our stories, students had to pick who they wanted as their president. They created posters and shared why they wanted that person/animal to be president.

Next, students voted! They even received an "I voted sticker" when they finished.

We worked on learning and writing the letter L this week. We sang songs, did a few projects, wrote, and built the L using various materials.

Useful tip: if you notice that your child is struggling with their crayon grip, break off the last 1/4 of your crayons (not pointed side). Kids are forced to hold the crayon correctly!
We also talked about fall. First, we read "A Tree for All Seasons." Then, students created their own fall tree.
In math, students completed another graph. The PM students graphed their favorite candy. The AM students graphed their eye color.

I changed out the drama center Thursday evening. The kiddos were in *love* with the new school set up! It was too cute listening to them decide which teacher they were going to be!

Also, I plan to post some lyrics to our favorite songs on the blog. This way you can sing with your child. I'll hopefully have that done by next week!
