A Week in Review - April 15 - 19

Can you believe that there are only eight weeks left in the school year?  I am trying my hardest to soak up every second with my friends.  We wrapped up our pet unit this week by read "The Perfect Pet."  After we read the book students wrote about what they thought would be their perfect pet.

 

"The perfect pet is a cat because she would be able to play with my toys" (La'Mya AM)

"The perfect pet is a kitty because I like to pet them" (Tyler PM).

"The perfect pet is a guinea pig because my mom and dad would not mind" (Ella AM).

"The perfect pet is a fish because it doesn't mess around" (Miles PM).

"The perfect pet is a horse because I can ride it to school" (Bennett AM).

"The perfect pet is a fish because it's a little bit to clean up" (Allie PM).

 

In math, students graphed which imaginary animal they would want as a pet.

This week we also began learning about Earth Day.  We read several books about Earth Day and discussed ways for us to take care of our Earth.  Students thought and wrote about one way that they could help our Earth.

 

"I promise to clean the city" (Nyelah PM).

"I promise to turn off the computer" (Evi AM).

"I promise to clean up the earth so animals can live there" (Hazel AM).

"I promise to clean up the oil" (Willy AM).

We had our Mystery Readers on Friday.
