Our Week in Review - April 7 - 11

Happy spring break! I hope you all enjoy your 10 stay home days!

This week in Readers Workshop we looked for problems and solutions in our stories wit our reading buddies. Students did a really great job finding the character's problem and how they fixed the problem!

Problem - the duckling wants the hot dog
Solution - they share
Problem - SkippyJon Jones colored on the walls and his mom was mad
Solution - he read books instead
Problem - the cat was flew out of the tree
Solution - Clifford caught the cat
We learned about fish this week. We read fish books, brainstormed what fish need, and labeled a fish.

Aden's labels (AM)
Bella's labels (PM)
Mercer's labels (PM)
Finley's labels (AM)
For Writers Workshop we read "The Perfect Pet." Students wrote and illustrated an opinion book on which pet they think is the best. We didn't finish these before break so I will post pictures after break!

We graphed which make-believe pet we would want.

We ended the week with our Pet Parade and Pet show!

The Zoo trip is Thursday, April 24th (9:00 - 2:00).

The letter of the week after break is Mm (hi smiley, big line down, frog jump! Big lines slide down, and up, and down).

Love,
