A Week in Review - September 22 - 26

Can you believe we have completed our first month of school?  As you could see from Open House, everyone has adjusted to our classroom routines.

This week we finally launched our literacy stations.  These stations include: read to self, work on writing, computers, listen to reading, word work, and work with a teacher.  Students spend approximately 15 minutes at each station and will rotate through two stations each day.

Allie, Hayden and Katharine at Work with Teacher (PM).
October is Fire Safety month so we read a book about fire safety and created a fire truck out of the shapes we learned about this week (square, circle, triangle, and rectangle).  During our morning/afternoon message students came up and identified the shapes in our fire trucks.

Sullivan identifying a circle (PM).
Finally, we celebrated Sullivan's 5-year-old birthday on Friday (PM).  Happy Birthday, Sullivan!

On Monday we have a fire safety presentation.  Tuesday is picture day!  Don't forget to turn in the pumpkin farm field trip permission slip and money.  Finally, just a reminder that the AM session is from 8:40- 11:35 and the PM session is from 12:45 - 3:40.

Love,
Miss Lucas
