Can you believe that we are now halfway through October?! Where has the time gone?!

This week we continued to learn about pumpkins. We learned about the life cycle of a pumpkin and we explored and labeled the inside of a pumpkin!

This week in science, we continued to observe our pumpkin. Unfortunately, bot the AM and the PM pumpkins began to rot! We talked about how when we do experiments you never know what can happen, that's why we call it an experiment! My amazing fiance, Jordan, went out and bought our class two new pumpkins from a local produce stand in Waukesha. I set up our experiment again and we will try it one more time!
We had two more mystery readers on Friday! Mrs. Ebersole snapped a few shots for me and e-mailed them to me so I could post them this week; isn't she the best!?!
Sasha's mom was our AM Mystery Reader!
Sullivan's mom was our PM Mystery Reader!
It was also our second Fresh Fruit Friday! Thank you for sending in a healthy snack!
Thank you Cheyanne for the fresh fruit (AM)!
Thank you Sullivan for the fresh fruit (PM)!
The conference I attended on Friday was for a writing program called Handwriting Without Tears (HWT). The conference was *amazing!* I cannot wait to begin using the program with my friends. There are songs that teach kids how to correctly hold a pencil, draw a person, and write their letters! I will be posting videos and more information on the program soon. If you'd like to check out the program yourself, here is a link for parents!
Please remember that we are heading to the pumpkin farm on Tuesday! Please dress for the weather, as we will be spending our day outside. Also, please remember to send your child with a pillowcase so they can carry their pumpkin!
Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
Love,
Miss Lucas
